The South African stallion ranks has gained an exciting addition in the shape of top-level winner Erupt who is joining the roster at Maine Chance Farm this season.

Erupt becomes the only European Group 1-winning son of Darley’s flagship sire Dubawi to stand in the rainbow nation and he will be offered alongside leading sires Silvano and Querari.

A Niarchos homebred, Erupt was trained for the majority of his career by Francis-Henri Graffard and the first of his elite level wins came when landing the Grand Prix de Paris as a three-year-old.

He would not record another victory for over a year until running out with the Canadian International Stakes in October 2016.

Out of the Group 3-winning Caerleon mare Mare Nostrum, Erupt is a half-brother to the Listed-winning Marie De Medici. He is from the family of elite performers Aube Indienne, I Am A Star and Flying Spur.

Syndicator Robin Bruss said: “It is fitting and thrilling that Erupt will stand in South Africa and be available to all breeders at an affordable price. Erupt is a very beautiful quality horse and ticks all the boxes on racing ability, class, pedigree and in terms of conformation, he is ringer for his own sire Dubawi.”

Erupt will leave Europe later this month and will enter quarantine in Cape Town before heading to Maine Chance Farm by the end of next month.
