Persian Moon wins again at York
The Mark Johnston-trained 2yo Persian Moon, purchased by Lillingston Bloodstock at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, earns back-to-back wins with a gutsy win at rain softened York under a 6lb penalty.
A winner on his previous start on very quick ground (winning a £25,000 Book 1 bonus), he encountered good to soft for the first time and won again. He made most the running, only to be headed in the final furlong by the eventual runner up. However he showed a wonderful attitude to battle back and be well on top at the line. His jockey PJ McDonald was very complimentary on the colt and had a job pulling him up.
He will no doubt get a mile in due course and is a horse on an upward curve. Already rated 93 it will be interesting how much he goes up from this and he must be getting towards Listed level. A very exciting horse for his owners, Kennet Valley Thoroughbred to be involved in.
