Swiss Lake, a Kern Lillingston broodmare purchase, has provided Lordship Stud with some fantastic days on the track and in the sales ring and descendants of the 19-year-old daughter of Indian Ridge have been enjoying a purple patch of late.

Swiss Lake’s two-, three- and four-year-old offspring all raced on Saturday, and her two-year-old Oasis Dream filly Swiss Air became her dam’s tenth winner from 11 runners when claiming the five furlong novice stakes at Lingfield.

A dual Listed winner on the track, Swiss Lake has produced three stakes winners so far, all in the striped silks of Lordship Stud, headed by Pivotal mare Swiss Diva, who won two Group 3 sprints in France. Swiss Lake’s son Swiss Spirit, by Invincible Spirit, was also a Group 3-winning sprinter and stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud, with his oldest crop just three-years-old.

Swiss Air is a full-sister to Swiss Dream, a multiple Listed winner over six furlongs and the dam of Yafta, winner of the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes at Newbury a fortnight ago.

Trained by Richard Hannon, Yafta is a three-year-old son of Dark Angel bought for £280,000 at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale by Peter and Ross Doyle and races in the colours of Hamdan Al Maktoum.

Ghalyoon is Swiss Lake’s three-year-old son by Invincible Spirit – making him a full-brother to Swiss Spirit – and he made his debut at Chelmsford on Saturday but was slowly away and showed signs of greenness in the early stages.

Trained by John Gosden for Hamdan Al Maktoum, Ghalyoon was a 300,000gns purchase by Shadwell at the 2016 Tattersalls October Book 1 Sale and can be forgiven his first run.

Swiss Lake’s four-year-old Frankel colt Swiss Storm, retained by Lordship Stud, made the frame in a mile handicap at Newmarket on Saturday, on just his second start this season since joining Michael Bell.

The second generation of her descendants are also making their presence felt on the track, with her daughter Swiss Diva’s two-year-old filly Poetry, by Kingman, impressive when winning over five furlongs at Nottingham on Thursday for Lordship Stud. Poetry holds an entry in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend next month.

Swiss Diva’s first foal Swiss Knight, a three-year-old Oasis Dream colt sold to Godolphin for 475,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1 in 2016 – narrowly failed to win at Newmarket on Saturday. Successful two starts ago, Swiss Knight went down by a short head in a seven furlong handicap for trainer Charlie Appleby and jockey Colm O’Donoghue.

Swiss Diva has a yearling colt by Dark Angel, a Frankel filly foal and was covered by Kodiac this season, while Swiss Lake has a Kingman colt at foot.
